Painful accident in Hyderabad, 17 killed: Fire in building near Charminar
A building caught fire on Sunday morning at Gulzar House near Charminar in Hyderabad. So far 17 people have died in the accident, including 8 children. More than 30 people were present in the building at the time of the incident. More than 15 of these people were rescued.
11 vehicles of the fire brigade reached the spot. Firefighters had to struggle for 2 hours to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire is said to be a short circuit, but has not yet been officially confirmed. At the same time, property loss has not been estimated in the accident.
The fire department says that the fire was reported at 6:16 am, after which the team reached the spot and started rescue work. Many people met in an unconscious state and about 10 people were admitted to the hospital.
According to the police, there were jewelery shops on the ground floor of the building and people lived on the upper floor. The fire started in the shops and spread to the top. There was only one narrow ladder in the building, so that people could not get out and died of suffocation.
PM Modi expressed grief over the accident
PM Modi has expressed deep grief over the incident. PMO wrote on X – ‘People were very sad due to the death of people in the fire incident in Hyderabad. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. Wish the injured to recover early.
The PM Relief Fund (PMNRF) will provide assistance of Rs 2 lakh to the family of the deceased and Rs 50,000 thousand to the injured.
Minister Prabhakar claims- most people died
Telangana minister Ponnam Prabhakar said that the fire started around 6 am and the fire brigade had reached the spot by 6:16 am. The team tried to save everyone, but the fire had spread very fast.
He said that most of the people living in the building died. The Chief Minister has spoken to the victim’s family and has assured the government to provide all possible help.
Eyewitness said- all the deceased of the same family
Eyewitness Zahid said that the fire was so severe that could not go inside the main door, broke the shutter and wall and reached the first floor, but everything was burnt. The fire brigade did a good job, but the fire was fast. All the deceased belonged to the same family, there was no way from behind.
