Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has once again expressed his intention to interact with India. Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Wednesday that his country is ready for ‘meaningful talks’ with India to resolve all pending issues. According to an official statement, Sharif made this remark during a conversation with British High Commissioner Jane Marriott. Marriott met Shahbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s residence. Both have discussed bilateral relations as well as the regional status of South Asia and West Asia.
What did PM Sharif say
According to the statement, “Prime Minister Sharif appreciated Britain’s role in reducing tension during the Pakistan-India deadlock and reiterated that Pakistan is ready for a meaningful dialogue with India on all pending issues.” Sharif has said such a thing before. Recently, Sharif made a similar statement while addressing the Pakistan-Turkie-Ajarbaijan tripartite summit at Lachin, Azerbaijan.
India has made the stand clear
Prior to Azerbaijan, Sharif said in Tehran that he is ready to talk with India to ‘resolve all controversies’. The Prime Minister of Pakistan may say anything, but India has made it clear that it will only talk with Pakistan on the issue of returning and terrorism occupied by Pakistan.
India responded to terrorist attack
The tension between India and Pakistan increased after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April. 26 people lost their lives in this terrorist attack. On the night of 6 May, India made accurate attacks on the terrorist structure in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir under the ‘Operation Sindoor’. After this, Pakistan tried to attack Indian military bases on 8, 9 and 10 May. The Indian side had strongly responded to the Pakistani Himat.
