The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced its 17-member team for the upcoming T20 tri-series in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Asia Cup 2025. Surprisingly, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have not been given a place in this team. Both batsmen are already out of the race for T20 Internationals, but due to their absence in the Asia Cup, it is clear that PCB is not looking at them at all.

Babur and Rizwan last took part in the Pakistani team during the tour of South Africa in December. Salman Ali will continue the captaincy of the Aga team, while Shaheen Shah Afridi returned to the T20 International during the West Indies tour and retained his place. The Asia Cup will begin on 9 September, in which Pakistan will start its campaign against Oman at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on 12 September.

Pakistan included in Group A will face arch -rivals India, Oman and host UAE. Prior to the Asia Cup, Pakistan will participate in a T20 international tri-series which will also include Afghanistan and host UAE. The series will begin on August 29 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. In such a situation, Salman’s team will also have a chance to know the flaws of their team and remove them before the Asia Cup.

Pakistan’s 17-member team for tri-series and Asia Cup is as follows-

Salman Ali Aga (captain), Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Hasan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Haris (wicketkeeper), Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Wasim Jr., Sahibzada Farhan, Sam Ayub, Salman Mirza, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Sufian Mokim.
