This is the reason why Pakistan has now sought help from Russia to interfere in this matter. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Moscow Mohammad Khalid Jamali sought help from Russia to reduce tension. In another statement, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavarov expressed concern over the increasing tension between India and Pakistan. He has appealed to both countries to exercise restraint.

Referred to Tashkent Agreement

In fact, during an interview, Pakistan Ambassador Mohammad Khalid Jamali said that Russia has a special strategic partnership with India. Russia also has good relations with Pakistan. Jamali, referring to the Tashkent Agreement, referred to the arbitration of Russia. He said that Russia can use its good relations to reduce stress between the two countries. Explain that the then Soviet Union was signed between India and Pakistan in 1966. After this agreement, the war between the two countries was abolished.

Russia appealed to be restrained

In another statement, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavarov appealed to both countries to exercise restraint. He also expressed concern over the increasing dispute on the border of India and Pakistan. A statement issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry stated that Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Jar spoke on the telephone by Russia’s Foreign Minister. During this, Dar informed Lavrov about the situation. The Ministry of External Affairs said, “Lavarov expressed concern over the situation and emphasized the importance of diplomatic efforts to resolve issues. He emphasized that both sides should be restrained and should stop stress from increasing.

Russian Foreign Minister spoke to S Jaishankar

Earlier, India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar also spoke on the telephone with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavarov. In such a situation, the Russian Foreign Minister had urged both sides to reduce the tension after the 1972 Shimla Agreement and the 1999 Lahore manifesto.
