Islamabad: Former Pakistan Foreign Minister and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) President Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has given a big statement. Zardari has said that if India is ready to seriously cooperate in the process, then Pakistan will not have any objection to extradite the people under investigation. He made this statement in an interview to Al Jazira on Friday.
According to the ‘Dawn’ newspaper, when he was asked the possibility of handing over terrorists such as Lashkar-e-Taiba’s chief Hafiz Saeed and Jaish-e-Mohammed head Masood Azhar to India, Bilawal said that if this process becomes a part of comprehensive talks between India and Pakistan, Pakistan will not back down.
Pakistan ready to negotiate with India on terrorism
Bilawal Bhutto said, “Terrorism is an issue on which India and Pakistan should talk together. If India cooperates in this process, Pakistan will not have an objection to hand over any ‘person under investigation’.” Bilawal also clarified that the cases registered against Saeed and Azhar in Pakistan are related to terrorist financing, which are also being tried. He also said that India has not completed the basic legal processes without which it is difficult to blame these terrorists for cross -border activities.
Bilawal said-Hafis has already given punishment to Saeed
He said, “India has not yet provided evidence, witnesses and legal support. Unless India does this, the lawsuits and conviction will remain difficult.” Bilawal also said that Pakistan has already punished Hafiz Saeed and is currently in jail. At the same time, Pakistan believes that Masood Azhar is currently hidden in Afghanistan. He also commented that unilateral action by India to catch terrorists has become a “new abnormal”, which is neither in the interest of India nor Pakistan.
Bilawal’s statement came at a time when relations between the two countries have long been stressful and India has been constantly demanding strict action and extradition from Pakistan regarding the main conspirators of 26/11 Mumbai attacks. (Language)
