Pakistan has left India’s BSF jawan Purnam Kumar Shaw. Constable Purnam returned to India from the Attari-Wagah border at 10:30 am on Wednesday. He is released after 20 days after negotiations at DGMO level. He has been taken for medical examination. After interrogation, he will be allowed to go home.
BSF has informed about the return of Constable Purnam to India through press release. It said that Purnam Shaw had mistakenly moved to Pakistan while operational duty in Ferozepur sector on 23 April. He was then taken into custody by Pakistani Rangers.
On the next day of the terrorist attack on 22 April in Pahalgam, Pakistan Rangers released two photos of BSF jawan Purnam Kumar Shaw. In the first photo, Poornam stood under the tree. His rifle, water bottle, bag lying on the ground. In the second photo, the jawan’s eyes were tied.
Shaw is originally from West Bengal
Jawan Shaw is originally from Risda village in Hooghly in West Bengal. He was doing duty on Indo-Pak border with farmers in Ferozepur on 23 April. During this time he accidentally entered the Pakistan border to sit under a tree. Where Pakistani Rangers caught him and took him with him.
