Khwaja Asif said this?
A day earlier, Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khwaja Asif claimed that the 1972 Shimla Agreement had become a fruitless document. He had said that the bilateral structure that was built is now over and now the resolution of disputes is possible only through international forums. Asif also questioned the current status of the Indus Water Treaty and said that when the Shimla agreement is over, what will be the future of the rest of the treaties.
Know what is the Shimla Agreement
Meanwhile, let us also know that the Shimla agreement was signed in 1972 after the 1971 war between India and Pakistan. Its purpose was to resolve bilateral issues between the two countries through mutual negotiations. After strict action against terror, the sound of ending it in Pakistan may be rising, but officially this agreement is still in force. (Language)
