After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, India has imposed several sanctions on Pakistan. Apart from ending the mutual embassy of the two countries, India has stopped the water to Pakistan. In such a situation, Pakistan has also banned the operation of Indian flights on its aircraft. Most of the flights from North India passed through Pakistani aircraft. In such a situation, Indian flights are taking more time than normal. In such a situation, the DGCA has issued a guideline to the airlines to make proper arrangements for food and drink and give correct information.
Impact on Delhi’s flights
Aviation regulator DGCA on Saturday issued an advice to the airlines to provide proper communication to passengers and catering services during the flight. International flights are taking a long time for flying due to the shutdown of Pakistan in Pakistan. Pakistan has shut down its airspace for Indian airlines, resulting in their international flights to long hours. Flights flying from North Indian cities including Delhi have been affected more.
DGCA’s advice is based on five points
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued advice on passenger handling measures in view of the airspace sanctions, resulting in the flight duration and technical interruptions. The DGCA said the airline operations have been affected due to recent developments associated with international aircraft shutdown and overfly restrictions. DGCA’s advice focuses on five main areas.
DGCA’s advice point
- Communication from passengers before flight
- Catering and rest during flight
- Medical preparation and alternative airports
- Customer service and support readiness
- Inter-departmental coordination.
