Karachi: A private airline in Pakistan has not blundered a mistake. Due to the mistake of the airline, a passenger from Lahore to Karachi reached Saudi Arabia. Eventually, the airline obeyed the mistake and the passenger was later sent to Pakistan. The incident occurred on July 7, when Karachi Electrical Engineer Malik Shahzain rode from Lahore in a flight of ‘Air Siyal’. An official of the Civil Aviation Authority said that he was investigating this unusual incident. The official said, “Mistake may have been accidentally climbing a wrong flight, but there is no such case in front of us where a domestic passenger has climbed into an international flight.”

According to Shahzain, on the night of July 7, when he came to know that his child had fallen ill, he was returning to Karachi from Lahore. He reached the airport on time and showed his already booked boarding pass, after which he was sent to the lounge and departure gate. Shahzain said, “Two aircraft of ‘Air Siyal’ were on the terminal, one was going to Karachi and the other Jeddah. The employees made me sit in international flight without checking properly and I realized it when we did not land even after two hours of flight.”

Shahzain got interrogated for hours

The airline landed in Jeddah due to a mistake, while his luggage reached Karachi. At Jeddah Airport, immigration officials questioned Shahzain for hours, after which he realized that he had landed there without any mistake and instructed the airline to sit in the next flight to Karachi. However, even after sending the airline’s passenger back to Lahore, Shahzain’s troubles did not end and they were asked to arrange for tickets for Karachi.

According to Shahzain, for a long time the Mathpachi airline staff admitted their mistake. Shahzain also said, “So far the airline has not issued any clarification for my trouble or has not apologized.” ‘Aircel’ is Pakistan’s private airline. (Language)
