Peshawar: Pakistani security forces have killed eight terrorists trying to infiltrate the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of the country from Kunar province in Afghanistan. Officials have given information about the incident on Wednesday. The firing incident took place on Tuesday in Lovi Mamund Tehsil of Bajaur district. Intelligence agencies had received reports that the terrorists of the ‘Fitna Al-Khawarij’ organization were going to try to cross the Pak-Afghan border. ‘Fitna Al-Khawarij’ is used for banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
What did Pakistani officials say?
Pakistani officials said that after receiving the information, the security forces immediately came into action and started firing on the terrorists. All eight terrorists were killed during the shelling. During this, a child was also injured in a shootout from both sides. He was initially treated at Larkholozo Hospital and was later referred to the District Headquarters Hospital in Khar. After the campaign, monitoring has been done and tightened in the border areas to prevent any attempt to infiltrate in future.

Bullets fired for several hours
Although the Army’s Media Cell Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has not yet issued any official statement, local residents have confirmed a fierce struggle in the area, which allegedly lasted for several hours. The recent action took place on July 2, a week after a deadly bomb blast in Khar tehsil, a government vehicle was targeted. Five people including an assistant commissioner and a Tehsildar were killed in this incident. A total of 17 people were also injured, including four policemen.
