A school bus hit a teacher riding an Activa between Siwah and Narayana village of Panipat. The teacher died in the accident. The accused school bus driver absconded. The teacher was going for duty on Friday morning. The accident happened in front of the teacher’s brother-in-law. He has noted down the bus number and given it to the police. Sector 29 police station, based on the statements of brother-in-law, completed the post-mortem of the body and handed it over to the family members. The police have registered a case against the accused bus driver and started investigating him.
Praveen Kumar, resident of Kutani village, told that he is working in the irrigation department. His brother Anil has a grocery shop in the village itself. His sister-in-law Monica (31) was a teacher by profession. She got employed as a mathematics teacher through Haryana Employment Skills Corporation eight months ago. At present his duty was in the government school of Narayana village. She left home for duty at quarter to eight in the morning. He too was following her to Narayana village for his personal work.
On the way, his Activa was hit by a school bus between Narayana and Siwah villages near Rohtak bypass. Monica fell headlong on the road. He suffered serious injuries. He picked them up and noted the bus number. With the help of passersby, he took Monica to a private hospital located near Siwah village. Here the doctors declared him dead after examination. Monica was the mother of two daughters aged seven and three years.
Sector 29 police station in-charge Sandeep Singh said that he has taken stock of the incident site. The body has been handed over to the relatives after post-mortem. Efforts are being made to arrest the bus driver. He is currently absconding.
