Uproar in Lok Sabha

New Delhi: Opposition parties created a ruckus in both houses of Parliament on Friday. Due to the uproar, the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha had to stay till 12 noon. According to the information, The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 12 noon after the commencement of the Lok Sabha proceedings due to the opposition’s uproar over the special intensive revision (SIR) issue of the voter list in Bihar. Earlier, opposition MPs in the Parliament complex protested even today on the issue of SIR in Bihar. At the same time, TMC MPs also demonstrated on different issues.

On the commencement of the proceedings of the House, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla informed the House about the death of former Union Minister Satyapal Malik. The House paid tribute to former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Malik by keeping a few moments of silence. After this, Birla, while mentioning the 83rd birth anniversary of the Quit India Movement on August 9, said, “We pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and all the immortal martyrs who made the highest sacrifices for freedom on the occasion. After this, as soon as he started the Question Hour, members of the opposition parties came near the seat and started shouting slogans. They are demanding to discuss the issue of SIR and election reform in the House, which the government has rejected. Amid the uproar, some ministers, including Union Health Minister JP Nadda and Minister of State for Health Anupriya Patel, answered some members complementary questions.
