Parliament’s monsoon session will run from 21 July to 12 August, Kiren Rijiju gave information

The monsoon session of Parliament will be held from 21 July to 12 August 2025. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju gave this information. Rijiju said that these dates have been recommended by the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs headed by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Reijiju has announced the monsoon session at a time when the leaders of the opposition parties are demanding a special session from the government to discuss Operation Sindoor and Pahalgam terror attacks.
The government has also agreed to discuss Operation Sindoor under the rules. Reijiju, while answering the question asked about this demand of the opposition, said that all issues can be discussed under the rules in the monsoon session.
Insurance amendment bill can be introduced
The insurance amendment bill can be introduced in the monsoon session of Parliament. The bill is preparing to increase the FDI limit to 100% in the insurance sector. According to media reports, the draft of the bill is ready and will soon be presented before the cabinet for approval. Following the approval of the cabinet, the Department of Financial Services will start the process of introducing the Bill in Parliament under the Ministry of Finance.
Earlier, the budget session of Parliament started on 31 January this year. Both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned indefinitely on 4 April, ending the first Parliament session of 2025.
