Abhimanoj. With the commencement of Lok Sabha proceedings in the new Parliament House, the government introduced the first bill related to women’s reservation – Nari Shakti Vandan Act.
Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal introduced this bill, in which there is a provision to reserve 33 percent seats in the Lok Sabha and the Assembly for women, that is, in the future, every third member of the Lok Sabha and the Assembly will be a woman.
After this bill becomes law, 181 seats will be reserved for women members in the Lok Sabha.
But… there are many ifs and buts in this, so no one knows when the benefits will be available?

The question is – if census and delimitation were to be put on hold on women’s reservation, women’s reservation was to be postponed till 2029, then what was the need to call a special session in such a hurry and bring a bill?

Nari Shakti Vandana Act, this name is not a part of the draft, but the Prime Minister has given it the same name. Reservation is a constitutional right, not a divine blessing, using Vandana in place of reservation is not appropriate. You keep on worshiping, from Manipur to the country the country has seen the worship of women wrestlers. The use of Vandana destroys the sense of reservation and constitutional rights; an attempt has been made to erase the history of this movement with the help of this name!
