Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvati relief from Supreme Court
New Delhi: Parvati, wife of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, has got relief from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has upheld the decision of the Karnataka High Court. The Supreme Court has dismissed the ED’s petition. Explain that the Karnataka High Court had canceled the ED summons against Parvati, so the High Court’s decision was challenged by the ED in the Supreme Court.
What is the matter?
In the case of plot allocation by Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA), ED had sent summons to Parvati for questioning, which has been rejected by the High Court. In the High Court, Parvati argued that she surrendered all the 14 plots, and she neither had any ‘so -called crime income’ nor was she consuming it.
CJI reprimanded the Enforcement Directorate
CJI BR Gawai reprimanded the Enforcement Directorate during the hearing. The Supreme Court said in a strict comment, “Political battles should be fought among the public. Why the ED is being used like this? Chief Justice Gawai said to Additional Solicitor General SV Raju,” Raju saheb, do not force us to speak. Otherwise, we have to say some stringent words on ED. The court made it clear that the investigating agency would not be tolerated for political purposes. Finally, the Supreme Court rejected the ED’s appeal. “
What is the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) plot allocation case?
The Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) plot allocation case is related to an alleged scam that has been accused of irregularities in land allocation and acquisitions in Mysore. The case has especially created controversy over Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his wife Parvati.
Muda passed a resolution in 2020, with a policy to allocate alternative plots to land owners in ratio of land acquisition in a 50:50 ratio. This meant that the owners would be allotted the same or half an area in the developed layout in lieu of acquired land.
Many people were allotted plots under this scheme, but violating the rules, plots were given in iconic areas such as Vijayanagar, Dattagalli, JP Nagar, and RT Nagar, which led to large -scale irregularities.
It is alleged that Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvati was allotted 14 residential plots in a prestigious area like Vijayanagar in 2021, which was allegedly against the rules.
