PCB bows before BCCI, Champions Trophy can be held in hybrid model
A big revelation regarding Champions Trophy 2025 has been made in a PTI report. It has been revealed in this report that PCB i.e. Pakistan Cricket Board has bowed down before BCCI and now India will be seen playing its matches in UAE in the Champions Trophy. Pakistan Cricket Board once again seems to be bowing before BCCI. This means that now the Champions Trophy can be held in hybrid model.
Asia Cup was played in hybrid model in Pakistan in 2023
The Asia Cup was held in Pakistan in the year 2023. But India had played its matches in Sri Lanka, hence the Champions Trophy can also be held in a similar manner. The Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan but India will play its matches in UAE. And all the matches which the team has to play with India will be played in UAE.
Let us tell you that BCCI has not yet taken any decision regarding whether the Indian team will go to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025 or not. Because keeping in mind the security concerns, the Indian government has to decide whether the Indian team will tour Pakistan or not and till now no decision has come from the Indian government.
A PCB source told PTI, If the Indian government does not give permission to Team India, then they are ready to play under the hybrid model. In such a situation, matches can be held either in Dubai or Sharjah. PCB wants BCCI to give in writing whether they have got permission from their government to send their team to Pakistan or not.
Now in such a situation, it will be interesting to see whether BCCI shows any such written letter from the Government of India to Pakistan. Because this demand of PCB can hardly be fulfilled.
