Donald Trump
US President Donald Trump has banned people from 12 countries to enter the US. People of these countries cannot travel to America. During his first term as an US President, Trump banned people from many countries. However, it was later removed. Now once again Trump has imposed a complete ban on people from many countries entering America. Trump has taken strict action against seven other countries citing US security.
Ban will be implemented from Monday
Trump has stopped people from a dozen countries from entering the United States by signing an announcement on Wednesday night. These countries include Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, Congo Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Irritriya, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen. Along with this, it has been decided to impose strict ban on people coming from Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leon, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela. The train ban will be applicable from 12 noon on Monday.
What did Donald Trump say?
Donald Trump said in his announcement, “I should work to protect the national security and national interests of the United States and its people.” Trump gave an executive order on 20 January, in which the state and homeland security departments and the National Intelligence Director were asked to prepare a report on the “hostile attitude” towards the US and to find out whether people coming from some countries raise risk for national security. After its report, full ban has been implemented on 12 countries and stringent rules on 7 countries.
Ban was also imposed in 2017
During his first term, Trump issued an executive order in January 2017, banning travel to America by seven Muslim countries – Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen. It was one of his most chaotic and confusing decisions of his presidential presidential. Passengers from these countries were either stopped from climbing in flights to America or were taken into custody at American airports after landing. These included students and teachers as well as businessmen, tourists and friends and family members.
Many changes between legal challenges
This order is often known as “Muslim restrictions” or “travel restriction”. Trump had a lot of legal challenges about this ban. In such a situation, there were constant changes on this. In 2018, the Supreme Court approved it after several changes. The ban impressed various categories of passengers and immigrants from Iran, Somalia, Yemen, Syria and Libya, as well as the North Korean and some Venezuela government officials and their families. Trump and others have defended the ban on the basis of national security, arguing that its purpose was to protect the country and was not based on anti -Muslim bias. However, during his first campaign for the White House, the President had talked about imposing a clear ban on Muslims. (Input-AP)
