Struggle on protest in Kathmandu

Meanwhile, the Nepal government announced a ban on protests in most parts of Kathmandu in view of the movement of monarchy supporters. A notification issued by the Kathmandu District Administration Office stated that the three places in the Kathmandu Ring Road area – Koteshwar, Balkhu and Sifhal Maidan will be banned at other places except Koteshwar, Balkhu and Sifhal Maidan.

For how many days the order will be effective?

According to the notification, this ban will be effective for the next two months from June 2. It said that this ban has been imposed by the protesters to avoid possible disruption in business activities and transport services. However, this notification will not be effective on other programs organized by the coordination of the District Administration Office.

Indefinite protest program

The monarchy has been organizing indefinite protest programs since Thursday, demanding restrictions to the monarchy and Hindu country status. The protesters had taken pictures of former King Gyanendra Shah and raised slogans against the government led by Prime Minister KP Oli.
