Bengaluru stampede: Prajwal, Sahana, Purna Chandra, Shivalinga Swami, Bhowmik, Shravan … These are the names that lost their lives in the stampede. In Bengaluru, 11 people died in a deadly stampede on Wednesday evening, while 33 people were injured, who are undergoing treatment in separate hospitals. In fact, this stampede did not take place in any political rally or religious event, but the IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) celebrated while celebrating the victory.

RCB won the IPL trophy after a long wait of 18 years. In this happiness, a government program was organized in honor of the RCB team at Vidhan Saudha, Bengaluru. But in this whole matter, it was worth noting that where the common people were waiting for hours outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium, the stampede took place, people were dying, while the preparations were going on to stand the minister’s son on stage with Virat Kohli.

RCB expressed grief over the incident, saying that he came to know about this unfortunate incident from media reports and immediately changed his program. The team expressed condolences to the dead and appealed to all supporters to be safe.

Crowds of millions instead of thousands
At the same time, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah blamed the Cricket Association for this stampede. He said that there were small gates in the stadium and people broke the gate and entered inside, causing a stampede. The Chief Minister called it an ‘unexpected accident’ and said that 3-4 lakh people had gathered outside the stadium with a capacity of 35,000.
Comparison with Mahakumbh stampede
The Chief Minister has announced financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the families of the deceased and free treatment of all the injured. He retaliated on the questions of the opposition party BJP and gave the example of a stampede in Mahakumbh and said not to do politics on such incidents.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the accident. He wrote on X, “The accident in Bengaluru is very heartbreaking. In this sad hour, my condolences are with all those who have lost their loved ones. I wish the injured to get well soon.”
