The Ministry posted a picture of Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose and Savarkar on its ‘X’ handle and wrote, “Celebrating the independence of the country, let’s remember that freedom flourishes only when we nurture it through unity, compassion and karma every day.”

Congress organization general secretary KC Venugopal said on ‘X’, “On every Independence Day, Prime Minister Modi-led BJP is engaged in distorting history and making traitors a hero. The British like Savarkar put mercy from Gandhiji above Gandhiji and completely reject Pandit Nehru and Sardar Patel ji. This reflects their contempt towards our freedom fighters. “Actually, the Ministry of Petroleum shared a picture on X,” Celebrating the independence of our country, let’s remember, freedom flourishes only when we nurture it through unity, sympathy and deeds every day.
