Due to heavy rain on Tuesday, Phoenix Mall of Asia located in Yelahanka, Bangalore was submerged in water. In the video released on social media, it was seen that the parking and entrance of the mall is filled with water, due to which customers are not able to go inside the mall. Let us tell you that this is the longest and biggest mall of Bangalore (Phoenix Mall). The rain on Tuesday caused havoc and the mall was flooded all around. Due to water logging in the area, people are being taken out of their homes to safe places through tractor trolleys.

Questions were also raised regarding the location of the mall. Last year itself, Bangalore Police had ordered the mall to be closed for 15 days as it was causing traffic problems in the northern part of Bangalore. Heavy rains caused flooding in Yelahanka. Due to water logging on roads everywhere, a resident of Kendriya Vihar Apartment was rescued with the help of a tractor trolley.

Announcement of school closure

The Karnataka government has announced closure of schools in Bengaluru city district due to forecast of heavy rain. Bengaluru Urban District Collector Jagadish ordered and announced a holiday for Anganwadi centres, government and private schools in all taluks of the city. Since there is a government holiday on the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti, schools in the state will remain closed on October 17 also.
