Plain Crash: Everything was fine, yet how did it go so wrong?
Rajat Sharma, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of India TV.
The biggest most terrible and most tragic accident in the recent history of Aviation took place in Ahmedabad on Thursday. Air India, carrying 242 people, crashed as soon as the Dreamliner took off. In just 40 seconds, this airplane turned into fire shells. The flight was going from Ahmedabad to London. The aircraft along with 230 passengers were riding a total of 242 people, including 2 pilots and 10 crew members. In the accident, only one person left the debris alive. Ramesh Vishwas Kumar, a British citizen of Indian origin, is not yet believed how he survives?
Those who were victims of the accident include former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. Rupani chose the date of his journey 12/06, as he considered 1206 as a wisdom for himself. The fuel tank of the aircraft was full. It had about thirty three thousand gallons (one lakh thirty five thousand liters) fuel. The aircraft reached a height of only 190 meters after taking off. Instead of moving upwards, the aircraft suddenly came downwards, first hit the trees and then hit the building of a medical college hostel. There was a tremendous explosion and the aircraft became pieces between the flames.
Why did the plane crash?
The question is, why did this plane crash? Boeing is counted among the world’s safest aircraft making companies. Thirteen years old, this aircraft came around half the world in the last seven days. The aircraft came to Delhi from Paris on Wednesday night and reached Ahmedabad from Delhi to go to London on Thursday morning. Then what happened suddenly in this plane that he crashed as soon as he took off? I have spoken to Aviation Engineers. Information has been obtained from experienced aircraft drivers. Asked him many questions. The pilot of this plane was very experienced. Why did he keep the landing gear open at the last moment? Did the pilot know at the time of takeoff that something was wrong? What message did the pilot send to ATC?
Aircraft driver Captain Sumit Sabarwal had an experience of flying an 8200 hours aircraft. Co-Pilot Clive Kunder had an 1100-hour aircraft flying experience. Air India’s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner is considered one of the finest and safest aircraft in the world for long distance journey. At the time when this aircraft crashed, its speed was 174 Knots i.e. about 322 km per hour. Therefore, even before the takeoff, even if the pilot has come to know about the technical glitch, the pilot has no option to stop the aircraft on this speed on the runway. Experts say that the pilot did not close the landing gear and tried to land the aircraft in the surrounding area but a few seconds crashed into the Meghani Nagar area after a few seconds.
What did the aviation expert tell?
At present, 1200 such Dreamliner aircraft of Boeing are flying in the world and no such accident has happened till date. Then no one can understand how this plane crashed in Ahmedabad. I talked to many experts, tried to understand the reason for the plane crash. One thing is that in a few seconds of the plane flying, his contact from ATC broke. Secondly, when the plane crashed, it was only at a height of 190 meters. Experts say that both the engines of the plane are active with full power to go up at the time of takeoff, only when the plane takes off. But the video of the plane crash shows that the aircraft could not rise up. All of us who travel in the aircraft know that when the plane is taking off, going upwards, then the nose of the plane is pointing upwards. Looking at this plane, it seemed as if he was going to land instead of flying.
Aviation expert says that the aircraft was seen trying to fly instead of takeoff. Flap of his wings was not in normal takeoff position. By looking at the upper side, the expert feels any kind of engine failure, but there is also a lot of doubt in it. If one engine of the plane fails, then the design of this plane is such that the plane can take off from another engine. It is impossible to fail the two engines together. This happened earlier in the same position when a flock of birds collided with the plane. Both engines were damaged. This is also a rarest of the rare case. But nothing like this happened here.
Was this a big mechanical fault? Did the plane’s electrical system crash? These are just questions because there is no example of such failure in the history of this plane. Seeing the video of the plane crash, seeing the debris, all the experts are surprised that how did this happen? In the end, he says the same thing that the reason for the plane crash will be known from the black box. The plane consists of 2 black boxes. This is the place where it will not be difficult to get a black box. In the black box, the pilot has a mutual interaction in the cockpit. They contain technical data. The same reason for the plane crash will be known from that. On Friday, ATS took out VDR (Voice Data Recorder) from the wreckage of the plane. Now the team of Forensic Lab will collect evidence from the debris. (Rajat Sharma)
