PM Internship Scheme 2024 last date, eligibility details: Led by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, the PMIS aims to place young individuals in 12-month internships with India’s top 500 companies.

New Delhi: The Indian government is taking several steps to increase youth employment in our country. The Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme (PMIS) is one of the key initiatives which is driving this employment growth. It aims to provide internships to 10 million youth over the next five years.

Led by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, the PMIS aims to place young individuals in 12-month internships with India’s top 500 companies. It will give them real-world exposure to business environments. The main benefit of PMIS is that it offers a stipend of Rs 5,000 every month, with support from government and corporate sectors through CSR funds. Moreover, it gives a one-time grant of Rs 6,000 for incidental expenses and comprehensive insurance coverage.

The internship opportunities span 24 sectors, including gas, oil, energy, automotive, travel, hospitality, financial services, etc. The companies were selected based on their corporate social responsibility (CSR) expenditure over the past three years. It ensures that the participants will be placed in organizations committed to social and ethical practices.

PM Internship Scheme last date of registration

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs will close the registration process for the PM Internship Scheme 2024 on November 10. Those looking to apply can find the direct link on the official website of the PM Internship Scheme at pminternship.mca.gov.in. Overall, 280 companies are part of the PMIS and they have offered 1,27,046 internship opportunities on the dedicated portal so far.

What is the eligibility for PMIS?

  • The PMIS has been designed for those whose age is between 21 to 24 years. It has been launched specifically for Indian nationals who are not employed full-time or engaged in full-time education.
  • Candidates must have passed High School or Higher Secondary School, have a certificate from an ITI, and have a diploma from a polytechnic institute. The applicant must have passed with degrees such as BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BCA, BBA, B.Pharma, etc.

How to apply PM Internship Scheme?

  • Go to pminternship.mca.gov.in and click on the ‘Register’ to open a new page.
  • Enter the details for the registration and click on ‘Submit’. A resume will be generated.
  • One can apply for a maximum of five internship opportunities with preferences like functional role, sector, location and qualifications.
  • Click on ‘Submit’, download the confirmation page and keep its hard copy.
