New Delhi: PM Modi and Russian President Putin have talked about phone calls. PM Modi himself has given this information on his X handle. PM Modi wrote on X, “My friend, thanks President Putin for sharing information about his recent meeting with President Trump in Alaska.”

The PM wrote on X, “India has constantly called for a peaceful solution to the Ukraine dispute and supports all efforts in this regard. I hope for our continuous exchange in the coming days.”

Discussion on many issues of bilateral cooperation

The two leaders also discussed several issues of bilateral cooperation and the two leaders agreed to stay in close contact. President Putin last week shared his assessment about his meeting with the United States President Donald Trump in Alaska.

Thanking President Putin, the Prime Minister underlined India’s firm stance to a peaceful solution of struggle through diplomacy and dialogue. He reiterated that India supports all efforts in this regard. The two leaders also discussed several issues of bilateral cooperation aimed at further strengthening the special and privileged strategic partnership between India and Russia.

Putin and Trump met recently in Alaska

US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin held a summit in Alaska. During this period, there was talk of relations between Russia and America, including war in Ukraine. In a shared press conference held after the meeting, Vladimir Putin had said that if Trump had been the President of America in 2022, there would not have been a war with Ukraine.
