Nikam came into discussion with the 1993 bomb blast case
Ujjwal Nikam was known across the country for his strong lobbying as a special public prosecutor in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blast case. He first came to Mumbai in 1993, when the then Police Commissioner M.N. Singh called him for this case. Nikam told that he did not even see the court of Mumbai at that time. The police held him at a guest house near Azad Maidan, but he was shifted to a good hotel in Fort due to the problem of mosquitoes there. He lived in Mumbai from 1993 to 2013 and served in several big cases including punishing Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab.
