New Delhi: PM Modi has met astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla. PM Modi and Shubhanshu have met on 7 Lok Kalyan Marg. A video of this has also surfaced, in which PM Modi is seen giving praise to Shubhanshu. Shubhanshu is also happy to meet PM Modi in the video.
Who is Shubhanshu Shukla?
Shubhanshu Shukla is a group captain and astronaut of the Indian Air Force. He has created history by traveling to the International Space Station (ISS) under the Axiom-4 mission. He is the first to travel space in 41 years after Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma in 1984 and is the first to visit ISS.
The mission was launched on 25 June from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Shubhanshu Shukla had done many scientific experiments during his stay at the international space station.
Where are Shubhanshu from?
Shubhanshu Shukla was born on 10 October 1985 in Lucknow, UP. He did his schooling from City Montessori School, Lucknow and then received military training from NDA. He then did M.Tech at Aerospace Engineering from Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Bengaluru.
He joined the Indian Air Force as a fighter pilot in 2006. He has more than 2000 hours of flight experience in aircraft such as SU-30 MKI, MIG-21, MIG-29, Jaguar, Hawk, and Dornier. He is a skilled test pilot and one of the four astronauts selected for the Gaganyaan mission.
A tremendous reception at the airport on returning to India
Shubhanshu Shukla received a tremendous reception as soon as he reached Delhi Airport. He was welcomed by Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and a huge crowd waving the national flag at Indira Gandhi International Airport. During this time, everyone’s eyes were seen in happiness and pride.
