PM Modi praised RSS
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat.
New Delhi: On the occasion of Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh i.e. RSS, after which there was an uproar in the political circles. Referring to RSS from the Red Fort for the first time, Modi said that next month, i.e. on September 27, 100 years of establishing the Sangh will be completed. Describing the RSS century long national service as glorious, he said, ‘Service, dedication and discipline are the identity of RSS. This is the largest NGO in the world. I respect all its volunteers respectfully. ‘
‘The ideology of the union against the constitution’
This statement of Modi immediately attacked this statement. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh taunted and said, ‘Modi’s chair rests on the grace of Mohan Bhagwat. He tried to please Bhagwat by praising RSS from the Red Fort. AIMIM supremo Asaduddin Owaisi wrote on social media, ‘If Modi had to praise RSS, he would go to Nagpur. The ideology of the Sangh is against the constitution. Modi started the wrong tradition by praising it from the Red Fort. Other Congress leaders also targeted RSS and Modi.
RJD and SP leaders also targeted
RJD leader Manoj Jha said that Modi today gave a speech not as Prime Minister, but as BJP leader. He said that if he had to mention RSS, he would talk about his contribution in the freedom struggle. At the same time, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav took a pinch and said that the constitution of BJP talks about socialism and secularism, but RSS neither considers socialism nor secularism. He said that Modi should decide on which path he has to follow, if you have so much love from RSS, then change the constitution of BJP.
BJP retaliated on opposition
BJP gave a befitting reply to the opposition attacks. Former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, ‘Congress is blindfolded. He does not see the dedication of Dr. Hedgewar and RSS volunteers. The Congress wants the Gandhi-Nehru family to get all the credit for the freedom struggle. Union Minister Giriraj Singh said, ‘RSS has the biggest contribution in nation building. Flood, drought, corona or war, RSS volunteers first come forward to serve in every difficult time. It is wrong to call it anti -national.
RSS reminds the opposition history
The RSS also responded to the allegations of the opposition. The organization reminded that in the 1962 war, Pandit Nehru and Lal Bahadur Shastri took help from RSS and honored him in 1965. The office for the Sangh was built by Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya at Banaras Hindu University. Former President Pranab Mukherjee also attended the RSS Dussehra program and praised his selfless service. RSS said, ‘Our organization has been engaged in social service for the last 100 years through organizations like Vanvasi Kalyan Parishad, Vidya Bharati, Seva Bharati, Single School and Rashtra Sevika Samiti. It is meaningless to question our loyalty and dedication.
Political compulsion or ideological conflict?
Some leaders questioned why Modi called RSS NGO? RSS replied that it has been working in every field of society for 100 years. Political experts say that opposition’s opposition on the praise of RSS is less ideological, political compulsion is more. Many leaders feel that if RSS is not targeted, their vote bank may be angry. Whatever it is, the praise of RSS from the Red Fort has created a political storm. The current debate has once again brought RSS and its ideology to the center of national discussion. It remains to be seen where this political battle goes forward.
