PM Modi reached Argentina after Trinidad and Tobago, strong welcome at the airport
Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a great reception at the airport in Argentina.
Buenos Aires: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Argentina’s capital Buenos Aires on Friday evening. This is an Indian Prime Minister’s first bilateral tour in 57 years. He was given a brilliant welcome at the AJISA International Airport. In this 2 -day tour, he will have a significant meeting with Argentine President Xavier Miley and will discuss further strengthening the relationship between the two countries. This is PM Modi’s second visit to Argentina. Earlier, he came here for the G20 summit in 2018. This time his visit is the third stop for his visit to 5 countries.
Many important issues will be discussed
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, PM Modi and President Miley will talk on increasing cooperation in many important areas like defense, agriculture, mining, oil and gas, renewable energy, trade and investment. The ministry said, “The tour will deepen the multi -faceted strategic partnership between India and Argentina.” Before leaving for Argentina, PM Modi said, ‘Argentina is our important economic partner in Latin America and is close to G20. I am waiting for the meeting with President Xavier Miley, from whom I met last year. We will focus on further enhancing mutual cooperation in areas like agriculture, important minerals, energy, business, tourism, technology and investment.
PM will go to Brazil after Argentina
PM Modi was on a tour of Trinidad and Tobago before Argentina, where both countries signed 6 agreements. He was awarded the ‘The Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago’ there, which is the highest civilian honor in the Caribbean country. He was first given to a foreign leader. After Argentina, PM Modi will go to Brazil, where he will attend the 17th BRICS Summit and will also be on a state tour. The last stop of his journey will be Namibia.
Why is PM’s visit to Argentina special?
The tour is a big opportunity to further strengthen the friendship between India and Argentina. The two countries have immense possibilities of partnership in many fields from trade and technology to defense and energy. Lithium is also likely to be discussed in this tour, as India wants to minimize its dependence on China on this mineral.
