Today is the second day of the Prime Minister’s Tamil Nadu tour. At 12 noon on Sunday, PM Modi did a road show from hotel to airport in Trichy. After this he reached the Gangaakond Cholpuram temple in Ariyalur. PM attended the program organized on the 1000th birth anniversary of Chola Emperor Rajendra Chola I here.

In the program, PM Modi said- This is Rajaraja’s land of faith and Ilaiyaraja has immersed all of us in Shiva devotion on this land of faith. I am an MP from Kashi. And when I listen to ‘Om Namah Shivaya’, the hair stands up.

The PM further said- Historians believe that the era of the Chola Empire was one of the golden ages of India. The tradition of India was also carried forward by the Chola Empire. I salute King Rajendra Chola. I have got the privilege of worshiping at the feet of Lord Brihadeshwar.

I have prayed for the welfare of 140 crore Indians and the continuous progress of India in this historic temple. I wish that everyone should receive the blessings of Lord Shiva. The expansion of the Chola Empire was not limited to India only, but he also brought India’s rich culture and strength across the sea. It is a symbol of India’s ancient power and visionary leadership. It is also a coincidence that I have returned from Maldives yesterday and today I have become a part of this program in Tamil Nadu.
