PM Modi reached Namibia in the final stages of his journey after Brazil, played drum
A great reception of PM Modi reached Namibia.
Windhook: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached his much awaited Namibia tour. The journey is considered a historic step towards giving a new height to the strategic partnership between India and Namibia. This is an Indian Prime Minister’s first official visit to Namibia in three decades. In Namibia, PM Modi was traditional welcome in a traditional way. During this, Prime Minister Modi also played the drum with local artists of Namibia.
Bilateral talks will be held on these issues
There will be a one-to-one dialogue between Prime Minister Modi and Namibian President Netumbo Nandi-NDATWAR and a team level discussion of ministers of both countries. These dialogues include intensive consultations on issues such as trade, defense, digital cooperation and partnership in the global South.
Signing of joint agreements
A total of six important compromise measures (MUS) can be signed between India and Namibia in areas such as trade, investment, education, health, ICT and environment. These include agreements on cooperation in mineral and energy sectors including UPI. India and Namibia are negotiating towards direct import of Diamond, which will reduce the role of mediators. Also, long -term agreements have been expected on important minerals such as uranium, cobalt and laminates.
PM Modi tweeted by reaching Namibia
After reaching Namibia, PM Modi wrote on X, “Reached the Windhook some time ago. Namibia is a valuable and reliable African partner with whom we want to further strengthen bilateral cooperation. Today I am eager to meet President Dr. Netumbo Nandi-NDATWAR and address Namibian Parliament.”
Will address Namibia Parliament
Prime Minister Modi will address the Namibian Parliament during his visit. This is the first time an Indian Prime Minister will give a speech in the Parliament of an African country outside the South Africa region. Apart from this, he will pay tribute to the first President of Namibia, Dr. Sam Nujouma.
Digital Payment System UPI Deal
The special thing about this visit of PM Modi is that now the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) system is being introduced in Namibia. Prime Minister Modi will make an agreement between NPCI and Namibia’s central bank.
