PM Narendra Modi will visit Varanasi on Sunday, . During the visit, will launch several projects worth Rs 6,600 crore in the holy city of Uttar Pradesh. Among the projects include several airport projects and a sports complex.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will visit Varanasi on Sunday, will launch several development initiatives worth Rs 6,600 crore in the holy city of Uttar Pradesh. Among the projects include several airport projects.

As per the information released by the PMO, the Prime Minister will inaugurate RJ Sankara Eye Hospital in Varanasi, which will help in providing treatments for various eye conditions. During his visit, the PM will also lay the foundation stone for the expansion of the airport runway and construction of a new terminal building Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, the cost of which is around Rs 2,870 crore.

PM to lay foundation stone for new civil enclave at Agra airport

He will also lay the foundation stone for a new civil enclave at Agra airport worth over Rs 570 crore, at Darbhanga airport worth more than Rs 910 crore, and at Bagdogra airport at the cost of Rs 1,550 crore, the release added further. Apart from these, PM Modi will also inaugurate new terminal buildings of airports in Ambikapur, Saharanpur, and Rewa, The cost of construction of these new terminal buildings is Rs 220 crore.

Among the other projects to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister include phases 2 and 3 of the redevelopment of Varanasi Sports Complex. The total cost of this project is over Rs 210 crore under the Khelo India scheme. This project includes the construction of a new sports complex. It will feature hostels for players, a sports science centre, and practice fields for various sports, among others.

PM Modi to inaugurate tourism development projects

The PM will also inaugurate tourism development projects in areas related to Buddhism in Sarnath. These include the construction of new sewer lines upgradation of drainage system, and a zone with modern designer vending carts for handicraft vendors.
