Rajnath Singh will replace PM
It has been reported from the sources that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited to attend the Vijay Day Parade to be held on 9 May in Moscow, Russia. But the Russian side had already been informed that India would be represented by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
What was the program?
PM Modi was to attend the Victory Day celebrations in Russia, which symbolizes the 80th anniversary of Soviet Russia’s victory over Germany in World War II. During the Second World War in January 1945, the Soviet army launched an aggressive campaign against Germany, which ended with the victory of the Red Army. Subsequently, on 9 May, the Commander-in-Chief signed the Act of unconditional surrender to Germany, ending the war.
PM Modi’s last visit to Russia in July 2024, which was his first foreign trip in almost five years. The Prime Minister visited the Far Eastern city Vladivostok to attend an Economic Conference in 2019.
This latest decision has come at a time when India has resolved to give a strong reply to the terrorist attacks in Pahalgam earlier this month. On 22 April, militants opened fire in Pahalgam in Kashmir, killing 26 people, which was the most deadly attack in the valley after the Pulwama attack in 2019. Representative of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (Let), The Resistance Front (TRF) took responsibility for the attack.
Explain that PM Modi has given open exemption to the armed forces to take the way, target and time of India’s reaction to Pahalgam terror attack.
