Post office raises 5 -year TD interest rates
The post office has reduced the interest rates of TD schemes with a period of 2 years and 3 years. Now the post office will get interest of 6.9 percent on 2 years and 3 years TD. Let us tell you that the first 2 -year TD was getting 7.0 percent interest and 7.1 percent on TD of 3 years. Apart from this, the post office has raised interest rates to 7.7 percent on 5 -year TD. The 5 -year TD was earlier getting 7.5 percent interest. The post office has not made any change in the interest rates of TD with a duration of 1 year and will get only 6.9 percent interest on it. That is, now only 6.9 percent interest will be available on TDs from 1 year to 3 years in the post office.
Interest of Rs 92,849 will be available at Rs 2 lakh
The 5 -year TD will now get an interest of 7.7 percent, which was 7.5 percent earlier. After the new interest rates are implemented, if you deposit Rs 2 lakh in the 5 -year TD of the post office, then a total of Rs 2,92,849 will be available on maturity, including Rs 92,849 of interest. Let us tell you that the TD scheme of the post office is exactly like the FD of banks, in which fixed interest is available at a fixed time. However, all customers get uniform interest in the TD scheme, while senior citizens in banks get 0.50 percent more interest on FD schemes with a select period.
