3 people from UP and Maharashtra arrested
New Delhi: The tension between India and Pakistan is at its peak. Meanwhile, 3 people have been arrested from UP and Maharashtra. These people are accused that they posted on social media in support of Pakistan Zindabad and Pakistan. One of the accused is from Muzaffarnagar in UP and the remaining 2 accused are from Pune and Bhiwandi in Maharashtra.
What is the whole matter?
On Friday, the police arrested a person from Muzaffarnagar in UP. He has been arrested after a video raising slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ on social media. This arrest was made under the jurisdiction of Kotwali police station. Circle officer Rajukumar Saw said that a case has been registered against Anwar Jamil after the video was circulated. We are currently interrogating the arrested person. Jamil claimed that this is an old video that was made by his friend and he had shouted slogans with him. Some Hindu rights activists have demanded action against him.
Apart from this, in different cases, a woman college student living in Pune and a young man in Bhiwandi has been arrested on Friday for posting a message in support of Pakistan on social media. A Hindu right -wing group claimed that Khatija Sheikh (19), a student of an engineering college in Pune, posted the slogan of “Pakistan Zindabad” on his Instagram account.
Following a complaint, a case was filed against him under Section 152 of the Indian Justice Code (threatening the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India), 196 (promoting enmity among various groups), 299 (to hurt religious sentiments) and 352 (deliberately insulting the peace) at Kondhwa police station). Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5) Rajkumar Shinde said, “He has been arrested and further investigation is going on. Late evening, his college said that he has been expelled with immediate effect. Senior Police Inspector Krishnadeva Kharade said that an 18 -year -old youth was allegedly arrested in support of his Instagram profile in Bhiwandi in Thane district. (Input: PTI)
