Uttar Pradesh News Desk There are more than 2.5 lakh such ration cards in the state, on which the names of the husbands of women taking widow pension under the Destitute Women Pension Scheme are registered. This shocking revelation has come to light after matching the family ID with the databases of different departments at the government level. Many more shocking facts have come to light from this, mentioning which the Labor Commissioner has sent a letter to all the District Magistrates and District Supply Officers of the state. It has been said in the letter that after getting it verified, action will be taken as per rules. On which action has been started from the level of District Supply Officer office.

The number of ration cards on which the names of husbands of women taking widow pension are registered is 2 lakh 50 thousand 678. Similarly, maximum seven lakh 26 thousand 848 ration card holders have been found in the state, whose family members are paying income tax. These people are also taking ration from government cheap grocery shops. During the verification conducted at the government level, information has been received from NIC about three lakh 12 thousand 374 such ration card holders, whose family members have included themselves in the registration done for the sale of paddy-wheat under the Minimum Support Price Scheme. He is said to be the owner of more than a hectare (five acres) of land.

The Labor Commissioner has written in his letter that NIC has provided the fair rate shop wise list of the above ineligible as well as deceased ration card holders on the DSO-Supply Inspector logging of the departmental portal. District supply officers have been instructed to verify it and take action.

Out of 10 lakh card holders in Prayagraj, 39 thousand are income tax payers.

There are a total of ten lakh ration card holders in Prayagraj, out of which 39139 are those whose family members are income tax payers. While the names of husbands of women taking widow pension under the Destitute Women Pension Scheme are registered on 18803 ration cards, there are 5600 ration card holders having more than five acres of land. In Pratapgarh, family members of 15559 ration card holders are income tax payers, while husbands of 2869 destitute women pension holders are also included in the list. Family members of 4234 cardholders have more than five acres of land. About 4500 such ration card holders have been found in Kaushambi.
