Pakistan’s interim head coach Jason Gillespie praised Jasprit Bumrah and Pat Cummins for their unique bowling strengths ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

New Delhi: India will take on Australia in the highly anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy, starting on November 22 in Perth. The five-match Test series is crucial for both teams to seal a spot in the final of the World Test Championship (WTC).

As the vice-captain of the team, Bumrah’s experience will be invaluable for India’s young fast bowling attack while Pat Cummins and Co. will also look to trouble Indian batters. With the likes of Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood in the mix, Australia’s pace-bowling attack looks well-equipped to deliver searing pace and movement.

For India, Bumrah has played 7 Test matches in Australia and has picked up 32 wickets at an economy rate of 2.47. He will play a crucial role for the Men in Blue in the absence of Mohammed Shami. Rohit and Co. slipped to second position in the World Test Championship points table after losing the home Test series against New Zealand by 3-0. They need to win at least 4 Test matches to qualify for the WTC Final

He further added that Cummins and Bumrah are relentless with their accuracy and discipline and can bowl those unplayable deliveries to batters. “They are relentless with their accuracy and discipline can also bowl those unplayable deliveries. Whether it swings really late or it just has that extra half-yard of pace or it just does something off the surface which not a lot of bowlers have” Gillespie added.
