Prithvi Shaw 2.0: Shaw scored a century in his debut for Maharashtra, has luck took the turn?
Whether Prithvi Shaw plays cricket or not, but he remains the subject of discussion for some reason. Now when he left Mumbai and joined Maharashtra, everyone’s eyes were on him and he scored a century in his first competitive match for Maharashtra and told that he is ready to make a big hit in the cricket world again.
On Tuesday, August 19, Shaw stopped speaking to his critics by scoring a century against Chhattisgarh in the Buchi Babu invitation tournament at Guru Nanak College, Chennai. Shaw completed his century in 122 balls, struggling alone in the top order for Maharashtra. After completing a century in the 44th over of Maharashtra’s innings, he celebrated in a calm manner by not choosing a more passionate style on the occasion.
The former Mumbai batsman took his bat after completing the century and then hugged his batting partner Siddharth Mhatre and celebrated the century. Shaw hit 14 fours and a six, until he completed his century on the second day of the three -day round one. His century came a day after Sarfaraz Khan’s militant century played for Mumbai against TNCA XI.
Shaw left Mumbai to join Maharashtra. The 25 -year -old Shaw took this step after being ruled out of the Ranji Trophy team. He last represented Mumbai in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament in December 2024. After disappointment of not being sold in the IPL 2025 auction, the opener, which was out of the Indian team, also participated in the T20 Mumbai League in early June.
