A big news has come out about Mumbai opener Prithvi Shaw, who is out of the Indian cricket team. According to media reports, Shaw has made up his mind to leave the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and informed MCA that he wants to play cricket for another state as a ‘professional’.

Shaw has also sought a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from MCA. Talking about this from Indian Express, a source of MCA said, “They have sought NOC from us and we will soon decide on it.”

Shaw was dropped from the Ranji Trophy game by the Senior Selection Committee of Mumbai due to poor fitness last year and he was set up a two -week fitness program prepared by MCA instructors. The team management informed the MCA that Prithvi Shaw had 35 percent of fat in his body and needs strict training before coming back to the team. It is learned that Shaw received proposals from two-three states earlier this month.

In the last October, the MCA selection committee decided that if Shaw had to play for the Mumbai team again, he would have to lose a few kilos of weight. His fitness and form never improved and as a result the selection committee decided to exclude him from the Vijay Hazare Trophy, which was to be played in December 2024.

The 25 -year -old when he was dropped from the team, asked what else he needs to do to convince the selectors. Not only this, he cited his list a numbers and promised that he would come back, he also saw Shaw’s emotions in his social media posts. Shaw wrote on his Instagram post, “Tell me what else, what else do I have to see. If 65 innings, 3399 runs at an average of 55.7 and a strike rate of 126, I am not quite good … but I will maintain my faith in you and hopefully people will still believe me because I will definitely come back .. Om Sai Ram.”

Let us know that Shaw has not played List A in India since the 2022 Vijay Hazare tournament, he played for the One Day Cup in England for Northamptonshire County. His last five innings were 97, 72, 9, 23, 17 runs. When he played for Mumbai two years ago, his last five scores were 32, 54, 39, 51 and 10.
