Prithviraj Sukumaran and Vipin Das, who previously delivered a hit with Guruvayoor Ambala Nadayil, are now set to be back on sets for their next venture Santhosh Trophy.
On Wednesday, 16 October, on the occasion of the actor’s birthday, the makers announced the film.
Sharing the news on Instagram, they wrote: “Get ready to meet Santhosh as he chases his dream trophy on his next birthday!
Happy Birthday, Prithviraj Sukumaran!”
“Vipin Das is teaming up with Prithviraj again after Guruvayoorambala Nadayil. Their new project is titled Santhosh Trophy, directed by Vipin Das, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, and produced by Listin Stephen and Supriya Menon under the banners Magic Frames and Prithviraj Productions.”
Listin Stephen is bankrolling the film under the Magic Frames banner with Supriya Menon for Prithviraj Productions.
The two production houses also have collaborated previously for Driving License (2019), Jana Gana Mana (2022), Kaduva (2022), and Gold (2022).
Prithviraj Sukumaran recently won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for his stellar performance in Aadujeevitham (The Goat Life).
After Guruvayoor Ambala Nadayil, the actor started working on Nobody under the direction of Rorschach (2022)-fame Nissam Basheer.
During the success meet of Guruvayoor Ambala Nadayil in August, the Malayalam actor announced that he would next work with Vipin Das, Nissam Basheer, and Vishnu Mohan. He expressed his happiness over working with these new-age directors and hoped that their ventures would be successful.
Vipin Das too previously noted that Santhosh Trophy will have many newcomers.
Prithviraj Sukumaran is also working on the Telugu film Salaar: Part 2-Shouryanga Parvam, the sequel to Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire (2024).
He is also busy directing L2: Empuraan, the sequel to Lucifer (2019), with Mohanlal in the lead role. His next Malayalam release is Vilayath Buddha directed by Jayan Nambiar.
