Kathmandu, 20 October (Hindustan Reporter). The district administration imposed prohibitory orders in many areas of Pokhara before presenting former Nepal Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane, who was arrested in the cooperative scam, in the district court on Sunday. In view of the protests by Lamichhane’s supporters, the district administration has imposed prohibitory orders at many sensitive places including the police headquarters, the district court.

Kaski District Administration Office said that prohibitory order is also in force on all the roads entering Pokhara. The local administration has issued a prohibition order after protests started in favor of and against Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) president Lamichhane. Prohibitory orders have been imposed in many areas of Pokhara, especially on the roads from the District Police Headquarters to the District Court, due to the gathering of a large crowd.

Chief District Officer Bharat Mani Pandey has issued a prohibitory order banning the gathering of more than five people in a designated area.

Lamichhane was arrested from Kathmandu on Friday and transferred to Pokhara on Saturday morning. Kaski District Police Office said they are preparing to produce him in court today.
