Tel Aviv, November 06 (HS). There is huge anger among the people over Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to dismiss Defense Minister Yoav Galant. Citizens took to the streets and demonstrated throughout the night.
Netanyahu surprisingly announced the dismissal of Defense Minister Yoav Galant on Tuesday night, The New York Times reported. Netanyahu has appointed Foreign Minister Katz in place of Gallant. He made this reshuffle at the top level at a time when Israel’s army is fighting against Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
It is reported that Gallant was pushing for a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, which would ensure the release of the hostages. Gallant’s dismissal has sparked discontent in Israel. Protesters blocked traffic on the Tel Aviv highway.
