Protestors pelted stones during Maratha reservation movement, Nanded SP injured
Nanded District Superintendent of Police Shri Krishna Kokate got injured in stone pelting during today’s protest demanding Maratha reservation. The incident took place in Kushnoor area, where hundreds of Maratha workers had gathered demanding reservation. The Superintendent of Police appealed to the protesters to maintain peace, but stones were thrown at him and his hand was injured.
Tension has increased in Nanded district due to the demonstration by Maratha community workers demanding reservation. At least 40 people have been detained in connection with the incident. Maratha community activist Manoj Jarange had started a hunger strike on October 25, after which the agitation of the Maratha community has intensified in some parts of Maharashtra and has taken a violent form.
‘Will say goodbye to Shinde government on December 31’- Thackeray
Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday warned Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar, a day after the Supreme Court directed him against the Eknath Shinde-led government. Thackeray said he and his party will say “goodbye” to the Shinde government on December 31.
