Pune Metro: Metro will go from Vanaz to Chandni Chowk and Ramwadi to Vitthalwadi
Pune A good news has come for the people living in. The second phase of the Pune Metro Rail Project has been approved. This 12.75 km long phase includes two elevated corridors- Vanaj to Chandni Chowk and Ramwadi to Vagholi/Vitthalwadi. The development of this phase will cost an estimated cost of Rs 3626 crore. Let us tell you that both these corridors will expand the existing Vanaz-Ramwadi corridor of Pune Metro. These corridors will expand the existing Vanaz-Ramwadi corridor. The Union Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday approved the second phase of the project.
Which metro stations will be in the second phase
According to the government’s statement, both these two corridors will include a total of 13 stations, which will connect the rapidly developing suburbs like Chandni Chowk, Bawdhan, Kothaudi and Wagholi. There will be Kothrud bus depot and Chandni Chowk station on the Vanaj-Chandani Corridor. While the aircraft city, Somnath Nagar, Kharadi bypass, Tulja Bhavani Nagar, Ubele Nagar, Appar Kharadi Road, Wagheshwar Temple, Wagholi, Siddharth Nagar, Bakori Fata and Vitthalwadi stations on the Ramwadi-Wagholi Corridor.
In how many years the project will be completed
The second phase of the Pune Metro Rail Project has been targeted to be completed in four years. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the estimated cost of the project is Rs 3626.24 crore, which will be equally shared by the Government of India, Government of Maharashtra and external bilateral/multilateral agencies. The Union Minister said that in this detail, major IT centers, commercial areas, educational institutions and residential areas will get better service.
Intercity buses will join Chandni Chowk and Vagholi
Ashwini Vaishnav said, “The new corridor will integrate the District Court Interchange Station with Line-1 (Nigdi-Katraj) and Line-3 (Hinjwadi-District Court), which will make it possible in the city.” Under the long-term mobility scheme, under the long-term mobility scheme, the intercity bus services coming from cities like Mumbai and Bangalore will be connected to Chandni Chowk, while Ahilya Nagar and Choppati Chowk will be linked to Chandani Chowk. Buses will join Wagholi, so that passengers will be able to reach Pune metro easily. After the commencement of these corridors, 0.96 lakhs daily in 2027, 2.01 lakh in 2037, 2.87 lakh in 2047 and 3.49 lakh passengers in 2057.
