Pune: Nagar Road Set to Become 100% Signal-Free, Says MLA Sunil Tingre During Election Campaign Rally
Vadgaonsheri, 8th November 2024: MLA Sunil Tingre, representing the Vadgaon Sheri Assembly Constituency and a candidate from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-Ajit Pawar Group) under the Mahayuti alliance, has announced plans to make the Pune-Nagar Road—from Yerwada to Kharadi—100% signal-free. The initiative aims to tackle the persistent traffic congestion in the area, with several projects already underway, including BRT upgrades, flyovers, and grade separators.
Tingre made this announcement during a two-wheeler rally on Thursday (7th November) in Vadgaonsheri as part of his campaign for the upcoming Assembly Elections. He acknowledged that traffic problems along this road have been a major issue, with continuous efforts to address them.
He noted that the BRT route had exacerbated congestion and led to more accidents, affecting local residents, businesses, and industries. Tingre raised the issue in the Legislative Assembly and collaborated with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and local police to expedite solutions. As a result, the construction of the BRT route from Yerwada to Somnath Nagar was initiated, along with a double-decker flyover from Shirur to Wagholi, extending directly to Ramwadi with support from the Central Government. Tingre stated that these developments would ensure a 100% signal-free Nagar Road in the near future.
The rally was attended by several prominent figures, including former Corporator Yogesh Mulik, Sunita Galande, Sandeep Jarad, Dnyaneshwar Shinde, Usha Kalamkar, Satish Mhaske, Narayan Galande, Mahendra Galande, former Sarpanch Bhikoba Galande, Sangam Shankar, Mukund Galande, Mahesh Galande, Anil Navale, and Rakesh Pardeshi, along with other Mahayuti members.
