Pune: Ravindra Dhangekar Highlights Legislative Success, Vows to Boost Development in Kasba Constituency
Pune, 10th November 2024: Ravindra Dhangekar, MLA from Kasba Peth, has highlighted his legislative efforts over the past 16 months, stating that he raised 316 questions in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly during this period. Despite the brief time since his victory in the by-election, Dhangekar emphasized that he effectively voiced the concerns of Pune’s residents, particularly those from Kasba Peth.
Dhangekar made these remarks during his ongoing election campaign in the Kasba constituency while interacting with voters. He expressed satisfaction that many of the issues he raised had been addressed.
Among the key topics Dhangekar championed was the reinstatement of the 40% property tax concession previously given to homeowners by the Pune Municipal Corporation. He also pushed for an property tax exemption for homes under 500 square feet for middle-class and lower-income families in Pune. Additionally, he advocated for the establishment of a separate corporation for rickshaw drivers and owners and demanded a 22 TMC water supply for Pune city.
Dhangekar further noted his strong stance against drug trafficking, illegal pubs, and hookah bars, which led to police crackdowns on these issues. He also worked to address the challenges posed by Pune’s heritage architecture regulations, which have hindered the rehabilitation of old properties. Highlighting his commitment, Dhangekar said his attendance across four legislative sessions averaged around 90%.
Earlier in the day, Dhangekar, alongside workers from Mahavikas Aghadi and allied parties, led a campaign yatra through Ward No. 19. The march covered Lohia Nagar and Ekbote Colony, where local speakers reiterated their support for Dhangekar, citing his previous electoral successes in both Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
Participants in the event included Avinash Bagwe, Yaser Bagwe, Yusuf Sheikh, Sanjay Gaikwad, Zuber Delhiwala, Hemant Rajbhoj, Ganesh Nalavde, Ravi Patole, Ayub Pathan, Vijaya Mohite, and Manoj Yadav.
