Punjab Flood: AAP MP Raghav Chadha helped Rs 3.25 crore from MPLAD Fund

New Delhi: Punjab has been struggling with the most severe floods since 1988. All 23 districts of the state are affected by floods and so far 30 people have died. Relief and rescue work continues on a war footing. Amid this horrific disaster, Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has announced to provide assistance of Rs 3.25 crore to the state from its MP Nidhi Funds. He said that Rs 2.75 crore is for repair and strengthening of dams while Rs 50 lakh is for relief and rehabilitation.

Punjab is facing a terrible hit of nature

He announced this in a video message on the social media platform X. He said that the entire Punjab is facing a lot of beating of nature. Somebody’s roof broke, business was ruined. Somebody’s fields drowned. All the hard work of the farmers became soil in minutes. Livestock suffered a huge loss. Our 30 people have lost their lives in this flood. I pay tribute to every separated spirit.

Punjab did not give up

He said-‘Even after something, Punjab did not give up. I salute the soldiers (Army, NDRF, SDRF, doctors, Punjab Police, BSF) who are helping by moving forward among the floods. Thanks to the youth of Civil Society, NGO, Punjab who are helping people regardless of their lives.

As MP, my responsibility

The AAP MP further said-‘As a Punjab MP, it is my responsibility that whatever can be helped to me, I will do it. I am allocating Rs 3.25 crore from my MP Fund Fund. 2.75 crore rupees to strengthen the flood preventive embankments so that our villages will be safe from floods in future and I am giving Rs 50 lakh for relief and rehabilitation. He said that this is the money of Punjab, which is for the people of Punjab. I also appeal to the Center that in this hour of disaster, it should cooperate maximum to the Punjab government.
