Punjab: Navjot Singh Sidhu’s wife cheated of Rs 2 crore; Former PA cheated
Navjot Kaur, wife of former cricketer and Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, became a victim of fraud of Rs 2 crore. He himself has given this information. Navjot Kaur has accused her former personal assistant and an American NRI of defrauding her of over Rs 2 crore. This fraud was done to him on the pretext of registry of an SCO in Ranjit Avenue. The police have started investigating the matter and the case has been handed over to the Economic Offenses Wing.
Navjot Kaur said in her complaint that Gaurav and his partner Jagjit Singh had told them that Angad Pal Singh, who lives in America, wanted to sell SCO No. 10 through his maternal uncles Mangal Singh and Sukhwinder Singh. He asked to give some advance to book SCO. He entered into an agreement with Angad through his representative Sushil Rawat. Vishal Kaura (resident of Bagh Ramanand) participated in the agreement on behalf of Angad.
Navjot Kaur told that she transferred Rs 1.2 crore to Angad’s account through the bank. He also gave money to Angad several times through his PA Gaurav. Gaurav used to cash the check and give money to Angad’s agent. Angad had promised to get the SCO registered in his name soon. They requested Angad several times for the registry, but he started making excuses. When they asked for their money back, Angad along with his uncles Ravinder Singh (resident of Hargobind Avenue) and Mangal Singh contacted them and said that the registry of SCO would soon be done in their name.
