Lord Jagannath’s chariot journey took place in Puri, Odisha, a tragic accident occurred. At around 4:30 am on Sunday morning, when the devotees gathered in large numbers to see God in front of Srigundicha temple, there was a lot of shock and stampede.

3 killed, more than 10 injured

3 people have died in this incident, while more than 10 people are said to be injured. The injured are immediately admitted to Puri District Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.

The incident took place in front of Srigundicha Temple near Shardhabali. At that time there was a huge crowd to see Lord Jagannath, who was sitting on the chariot. At the time of darshan, the crowd became difficult to control and people started pushing. Some people fell on the ground and a stampede situation became.

Identification of all three dead

Meanwhile, 3 people were buried under the crowd and died on the spot. All the deceased are said to be from Khurda district. The dead include 2 women Prabhati Das and Basanti Sahu. The 70 -year -old man is Premakant Mahanti among the dead.

The injured were taken to the hospital

Those injured in the incident were immediately rushed to the district hospital by 108 ambulances. The team of doctors is continuously treating. The condition of some of the injured is said to be critical.
