Supreme court strict, sought answer

On this direction of the state government, the Supreme Court has expressed displeasure and issued a notice and sought a reply. The next hearing of the case in the Supreme Court will be on 22 July. A bench of Justice MM Sundresh and Justice N. Kotishwar Singh has given this order while hearing a petition filed by educationist Apurvanand Jha and others.

During the hearing in the Supreme Court, the lawyer of the UP government sought two weeks to file a reply, so the counsel for the petitioner said that by then the Kandar Yatra will end. In this way our petition will not mean any meaning. The petitions filed in the case stated that the sellers of the shops set up on the Kandar Marg cannot be forced to reveal their identity.

Shop owners will have to reveal identity

Citing the instructions issued by the UP government on June 25 during the hearing of the petition filed in the Supreme Court, educationist Apoorvanand Jha said that it is mandatory to showcase QR codes on all the restaurants on the Kandar Marg under the new directive, it should be known by the names and identity of the shop owners. The same discrimination is being done again, which was stopped by this court earlier.

The state government directs that the stall owners have been asked to disclose religious and caste identity under legal license requirements. The petition stated that this would violate the right to privacy of shop, dhaba and restaurant owners.
