Pakistan Rain Death: The number of people who died in the grip of continuous rains in Pakistan and after that sudden floods has increased to 706. Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said in its latest data that at least 24 more people have died during the last 24 hours. The death toll from 26 June has increased to 706.

How frightening the situation is, it can be gauged from the fact that the number of injured in flood related incidents has increased to 965. According to the NDMA, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has been the most affected, where 427 people have been killed so far, followed by 164 in Punjab province, 29 in Sindh, 22 in Balochistan, 22 in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and 56 in Islamabad region.

Relief campaign has been intensified

According to the news of Pakistan’s daily newspaper ‘The Express Tribune’, Army spokesperson Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhary said that the army has intensified the relief campaign, 6,903 people have been rescued through 9 camps in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and they have been provided medical assistance. He said that 8 military units are engaged in relief work in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, while 2 battalions are employed in Buner. Army aircraft are also assisting in rescue and supply operations.

Know Pakistan Meteorological Department estimates

Pakistan’s Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Ataullah Tarar said that relief work has been intensified in the affected areas. NDMA, Pakistani Army and federal and provincial governments are coordinating among themselves. He said that so far 25,000 people have been delivered to safe areas. Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted strong winds and heavy rains in most parts of the country over the next 24 hours. (Language)
